The removal of the one way system in Clonsilla was one of the most sought after changes requested from all residents in Blanchardstown especially those in Clonsilla.
It is important to state that this reversal was facilitated in this years Fingal County Council annual budget. David Cast his deciding vote to pass this budget but insisted that the abolition of Clonsilla’s one way system was included in the 2010 programme of works.
Please see below a circular received by David from Mr. Tommie McManus from Fingal County Council’s transportation department.
Dear Councillor,
I refer to the scheme to reopen Clonsilla Road to two way traffic
between St. Mochtas Estate/Coolmine Industrial Estate and the roundabout
at the junction of Clonsilla Road/Diswellstown Road/Blanchardstown Road
South.
Work on the removal of the one way system is scheduled to commence on
Monday next 14th June.
Tommie Mc Manus

David believes this is an important milestone for the people of Clonsilla. This is a testament to the perseverance and dedication of the people of Blanchardstown and Clonsilla. Councillor McGuinness is delighted to have played a part in bringing this project to fruition.
